State of the Field: How U.S.-China Tensions Affect American China Experts
Along with a team from the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations, I wrote a report based on a survey covering how the domestic political environment in both countries — and bilateral tensions — has affected the work of China experts in the U.S. The survey, commissioned by the Carnegie Corporation of New York, was sent to 125 leading international relations and national security organizations; the public, shortened, and anonymized version of the report conveys the results.
